Home Affairs Secunda Branch - 4 Months in counting for ID and Passport application!

Home Affairs - Secunda Branch My brother app**** and paid for his passport online on the 3rd of November 2021. On the 8th of November he went to the Secunda branch to do his biometrics. After spending the whole day there, finally he got his biometrics done, only to be informed that he must do the payment… He informed and provided proof of payment for his online application, only to be told that it does not reflect on the system so if he wants his application to be processed, he must pay again.. Desperate to get this done, he obliged and paid again and also included the application for his ID card. Time estimate for completion of application - 2 to 3 weeks.. Four months later… After numerous follow ups from end of November through December and January and still on going in February, still they cannot provide him with his passport or ID.

When you call the Secunda branch, they say it is a problem at their head office, when you call the contact centre, they can not even pick up his application.

Each time they will follow up and give feedback or will investigate!!

Any advise?
