Home Affairs says no to emigration. No delivery of needed documents!!!!

If I could rate this -10 I would. Last year September I went to home affairs too apply for my unabridged birth and marriage certificate as my husband and I were to embark on a new adventure outside of the country. They promised within 6 weeks I'd have it, but nope nothing. Instead they said they lost my records and I had to re-register my birth.

My husband left the country as his new job was starting, and I stayed behind as I needed these documents to apply for my visa (he is a foreign national so did not have to endure the same procedure).

I waited a few more weeks only to go back and enquire. Turns out they lost the documents I filled in to re-register my birth and had to re-fill it in. This time the supervisor helped me and promised me she'll have the documents to me within a week. She also told me that I needed to bring the Bl130 (also known as the vault copy) certificate, which you can easily obtain from the person who married you.

It has now been almost a year and NOTHING has been supp**** by home affairs. They don't answer their phones and they do not respond to emails. My husband came back to the country as the process was just becoming too painful to endure alone. We've now had to place our plans on hold just so home affairs can decide when I can do what with my life.

I've paid for those documents. Home affairs, this is theft.
