Home affairs on line - a joke

Trying to complete on line passport application. When I get to the part send verification email, I didnt and got an error message. Tried again a few days later and got to 'send one time pin' - nothing happens - no PIN. Cant proceed. Tried to phone the 0860 and 012 'helpline' numbers - no reply on either. Tried to send email to addresses given - info ********** - received an error message: "A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:" And to ********** - no response there either. Any one at home? How do I proceed? I dont want to stand in a queue for 8 hours.
