Home Affairs lost my passport!!!!!

Over a week ago I received notification that my passport was ready for collection, and today when I went to the Khayelitsha branch for the collection I was told that my passport wasn't there and that they don't know where it is. When I enquired as to how and why I would then receive notification that I must collect it, I was told that they could not speak on behalf of their head office and what they did on their side, but apparently they are at fault for me having spent half my day at the Khayelitsha branch only to walk out without my passport. I cannot express how angry I am at having to stand outside for 2 hours in the blistering cold, to have to put up with bully behavior of the staff, to be made to wait almost another 2 hours inside, only to be told that my passport is not even there. I've lost a whole day from work that will be taken from me, and all for nothing. What an absolute inconvenience!!! I paid for that passport and I paid with my time and my money to have a service rendered by the state, all to get nothing but rudeness and indifference in the end. Where is my passport and who can tell me where it is? Who is going to reimburse me for my time taken? What angers me the most is that the people of this department don't care for the way they treat people. It's truly disgusting. I just want my passport. I'm never using this branch ever again.
