Home Affairs incompetence - Prospecton Office

My fiance who is a soldier at SANDF (Air Force Base Durban - Old Airport) has been trying to apply for a military passport for over five (5) years now to no avail. This is not due to the lack of documentation or an error on our part but the incompetence of Home Affairs.

He originally app**** at Prospecton Home Affairs in 2015, where they then lost his documents. Following that application, he went through again where everything was successful. No calls or messages were received that the passport was ready. After two (2) weeks he attempted to collect the passport and was told that it had been misplaced. He then attempted to track it down, but no one was willing to help him do it. For a year he tried to track down the passport. Thereafter he attempted to re-apply, home affairs refused to help despite the fact that they lost the passport in the first place because there is no record of collection and they would have to take the blame for losing it.

Till today he is still trying to get his military passport and it is still reflected on the system that there is an existing one. I find it utterly ridiculous that he cannot just reapply. Why is it so difficult to mark it off the system that it is lost or misplaced? Or does the country not see our soldiers as important enough to help? one would think that the man who is willing to put his life on the line for the protection of his country and assisting others would be given priority. We even had to contact the provincial manager ourselves to get any sort of authorisation, because the managers at home affairs delayed it by 4 days. Today he has gone back to apply for his passport and has been sitting in the Scottsburg offices since 8am this morning, yet they are still trying to clear a misplaced passport from 5 years off the system.
