Home affairs disgusting service

In May 2019 my husband and I went to Home affairs Bellville to do a change of surname for our son as he was on my ****en surname dad and I was not married yet at the time of his birth.

We filled out all the necessary forms and doc's needed. The person who assisted us said this procedure can take up to 6 months. I was fine with it thinking this year my son can start at school with his dad's surname.

Last week I called because it was now 7 /8 months and I speak to a consultant named phumuzo who advised that my documents haven't even gone to verification yet,but he would send it to his supervisor so that they can mark it with urgency. It would take up to a week.

This morning I phone and spoke to a very rude consultant. Who had so much attitude. She advised that they STILL didn't look at it and consultant STILL didn't get feedback from the verification department and there is nothing they can do all they need to do is wait.

I'm so disgusted by the fact that I'm waiting so long with no feedback from home affairs side. I'm disgusted by the way I was spoken to over the phone . And the fact that I don't know what else I can do !
