Home Affairs disaster!
Funny you mentioned the Dept of Home Affairs in your covering letter. I had appied for a new passport in late Sept and on 3rd Nov I was told to come and fetch it in Centurion(( by email and sms!.) I set off yesterday in the pouring rain - I arrived at the Standard Bank Centurion where I had had the biometrics only to find everything gone including the Home Affairs offices. Even the car park had a barricade across it. I then tried to phone the 'help line' and a Centurion number with no success! The help line just said that the line was overloaded and the call disconnected. the other phone just rang and no-one answered it! I eventually asked a guard at the building next door if he knew where the Home Affairs offices had gone to. He said he believed to Lifestyle Centre. With the help of Waze I found my way there and got the passport but I am so angry that 5 days before they sent me two notices, neither of which mentioned that they had moved! This is a Government Department! No helpline at all assisted either!! It is a disgrace!
