Home Affairs delay in processing permit

I am from the UK and app**** for my permanent residency permit in December 2018 and have still not had any updates on the progress of why its taking so long. All I have been told is I have to contact the contact centre weekly and every week I get the same resoonse....its still being processed. For 3 years. I am living here for 8 years, married in SA, to an SA citizen and have two kids born here.....Its ridiculous service! I was hoping to get some help here as a friend told me you helped them.
