Home affairs Cape Town

Four months ago I app**** for my son's ID. I have tried contacting the home affairs department in cape Town but no one is answering. I have also never received any response via sms. Does home affairs have a bad backlog due to the covid 19. Or are they just ***********. I would like get answers please as home affairs do not respond to my calls.
