This does not deserve any stars. I'm so dumb struck by this. We app**** in September 2023 to change my daughter last name. In December my husband received a email advising this could not be processed as they do not have a copy of ID... ofcourse this might have been misplaced. Never the less without any response as to whether the ID document was received via email we waited the 6 months to go back and check. We went to home affairs in April. We were sent to the backoffice where we were told birth certificate was not processed by Pretoria head office. And there is nothing cape town home affairs can do. They have sent the request off. She provided me with telephone numbers of supervisors email addresses of 4 people who work in the unabridged birth certificate department. No one has answered my calls no one has responded to my emails. The phone rings without answer. What should I do. I cannot give up hope. I need answers better yet I need my daughter birth certificate with her updated last name. How is *********** people working at home affairs. The lady whom assisted me that day, who sent the request off told me herself Pretoria head office is useless. I'm so sick and tired of this.
