Home Affairs absolute joke

I app**** for an unabridged birth certificate on the 7th January 2020, the same day as my mother in law. She received hers 3 weeks after that. I am still waiting. Today I went and lined up at my local office. After over an hour I was informed that the only feedback they could give me was that my application was received on the 9th January and that I should contact the help line. I have been waiting for someone to even speak to me on the hotline for over an hour and a half now. How is a person supposed to get any information when the channels provided simply do not offer the assistance promised.
