Exceptional service from a Department of Home Affairs Employee

I would just like to give special mention to how Lee-Ann Butler, who assisted me with the registration of my daughter’s birth certificate. I am a permanent resident and the process for registering my daughter could have taken up to 4 weeks to process. This is a major challenge as my wife needed to put in an application for her UIF maternity benefits, which required a certified copy of our daughter’s birth certificate. Realizing that it was a matter of urgency, Lee-Ann processed my application and managed to get my permanent residence certificate verified within 7 days. She then went on to phone me to inform me that I would be able to collect it from Karl Bremer Hospital and was printing the birth certificate momentarily. I collected the birth certificate a few hours later, and my wife was able to put in her application for UIF maternity benefits the following day. Thank you Lee-Ann, for going above and beyond your call of duty. The Department of Home Affairs should take great pride in knowing that your exceptional service, and your calm and caring demeanor are an immense asset to not only the organization, but for the country as well.
