Efficient Citizen Service

On Friday 10/02/23 I went for biometrics for my passport at the Home Affairs branch in Pretoria. I was there at 08h15 and was out by 09h20. I was impressed with the efficiency, and the willingness of the employees to help out, as well as their friendliness in general. Civil servants have a bad name, but those ones redeemed all the other civil servants that I had bad experiences with.

This morning at 9h25 (Wednesday, 15/02/23) I received a message that my passport was ready for collection. They had said I may get it this week, but I did not expect to get it so soon after applying for it.

I went to the Centurion branch to collect (needed to collect ID for my niece as well), hence a different collection branch. We were there at around 15h15 and were out less than 30 minutes later. I was impressed with the lady who went to looked for my niece's passport that she did not pick up more than 3 years ago. She came out with both her ID and passport (which she had forgotten about, and had to be fished from boxes of uncollected items).

Thank you Pretoria and Centurion Home Affairs Branches for an efficient way of serving us! I have renewed faith in civil servants.
