Don't leave Home Affairs without your original documents

I app**** for my unabridged marriage certificate at the Vereeniging Home Affairs office in June. I was told it would take 3 months. I went in September as I had received no word of my certificate. For the first time, I was told that they had lost the documents that they needed to complete the certificate. I ran around getting copies of my documents from my marriage officer to submit to them again. It's November now, and I still have not received anything. Not even a text.
