Disgusting Service!!!
My sister's ID number was blocked because at TIME OF REGISTRATION MY MOTHER WAS NOT IN POSSESSION OF AN ID BOOK. Mr Bonga Mkhize from Umngeni Home affairs in DBN together with Mr Mnyakeni from the Home Affairs Head Office assisted with unblocking the ID number and advised that my sister can go apply for an ID book.
We went to Umngeni Home Affairs again to apply for an ID but consultants could not assist us. They instructed me to apply for an Unabridged Certificate for my sister, which will contain my details as her guardian since there are no more parents. Application documents for the certificate were completed and sent via fast mail in August 2019, to the postal address one of the consultants gave to me. Seeing that I had not received any communication, after 3 months, I went back to the branch. I was advised to complete again same forms and was advised they will be forwarded to Pretoria, and that was done in November 2019.
Since then, I have been going to the branch for feedback and been told that there is no progress on the application, my sister went to check again today and she was told that there is still no feedback. This issue has been going on for a very long time now, affecting not only my sister, but her two sons as well, as they also have no documents.
I am calling them, no one is picking up their phone, emailing them but no one responds. Since 2019, I have not received any form of communication from Home Affairs since. How long does one have to wait for an Unabridged Certificate in South Africa?
