DHA - Urgent Compliant
This is a formal and legal complaint against the Department of Home Affairs (Akasia and Krugersdorp).
I made an appointment (REF: YHL-CZ2YZ-1-APT) with DHA-Akasia for the date of the 11th January 2024 for a reissue of a new passport. My previous passport was issued in 2013 and expired in 2023.
On the 11th of January 2024, the day of my booking, I was informed that my previously expired passport was not removed from the DHA-Krugersdorp system where I, myself, last app**** and collected it from (more than 10 years ago).
I was then given the DHA-Krugersdorp contact details of the manager with details below:
Name: Nozuko Makapela Designation: Manager of the DHA-Krugersdorp Contact: *** (No answer and no message responses) Tel: *** / *** (No answer)
I then tried to get hold of Nozuko to inform her to remove my expired passport from their system as requested by Mercy Mabolo (DHA-Akasia). I attempted to reach her by calling multiple times (and explaining the issue via message). The below listed communication platforms were used as an attempt to reach her:
1. Phone call (phone just rings but never answered) 2. WhatsApp (Message had 2 ticks but no response) 3. SMS
The next day, 12th January 2024, the same issue of my expired passport blocking the reissuing of the new passport still stands. I was then moved to Mahlatse (DHA-Akasia) to assist with the issue by contacting DHA-Krugersdorp which she could not reach or get ahold of anyone, she therefore escalated the matter to Headoffice (via email) who have yet to respond.
The prevention of my travel abroad and may incur great loss of potential business should I not be able to travel within my scheduled timeframe due to the problem (and not being able to resolve the matter) caused by the DHA-Krugersdorp.
Regards,
