DHA delay barricading progress

<p>In 2013 my brother and l app**** for Permanent Residents Permit as dependants of our father. We were advised at the Harrison Home Affairs to combine the applications to one application and it made sense then so we did. We submitted all the required documentation and the official who processed the application did not tell us of any missing documents. In 2014 the head office rejected our application because on top of the SA police clearance we sent, they still needed a clearance from our country of origin despite the fact that my brother came to South Africa when he was 15. We obliged by acquiring the clearance but were told at the Harrison H/A that the rejection of the initial application was invalid because my brother had had a Study Permit since 2009. My application was also not considered although my documents had no problem. We then filed an appeal with the help of the officials and have been checking for the response ever since. When we go to Harrison we are told they do not deal with the Permanent residents anymore VFS took over and to check old application we need to go to Braamfontein and there we are always told that “there is nothing out.” VFS sends us to the Harrison H/A, Harrison H/A sends us to Braamfontein and in Braamfontein we are told to try go to Pretoria and my father has gone there more that 5 times and everytime he goes he is either chased at the securities or is told to go back to Harrison H/A. As it stands we have no idea what is happening, we are in the dark and have been going back and forth like headless chickens. We have contacted some DHA officials like Joyce Mamabolo with no responses at all. The call centre hasn’t helped us much either. Our lives are practically stuck and we are missing out on opportunities because our case does not seem to be looked into. It’s a nightmare!</p>
