Department of home affairs poor service

I went to department or home affairs to change my surname to my father I took all necessary documents proof of consent from both my parents ,I was told to wait 7 months to a year and it’s been over a year and a couple months , I’ve been told stories after story that my name has not been cleared the people who deal with such issues are slow, I’m very unhappy with the service of home affairs in Alexandra 😩the stuff is so rude as if i didn’t pay or owe them please assist
