Department of home affairs is a nightmare

<p>i app**** for my sons unabridged birth certificate on 21 December already, after sitting there for 5 hours. They told us it would take max 8 weeks. We are already on week 12, and still no certificate is issued. I have been following up for the last 3 weeks, but calling their call centre is an absolute waiste of time. All they can do is make a note on the system, and that is where it ends. Yesterday I request that they refer my request to a supervisor, but they just put the phone down in my ears. This is causing a huge dilemma, as my son needs to go on a school trip. If I can't provide the school with this certificate by next week,he won't be able to go on this trip, and I will be loosing all my money i paid. I am so frustrated that the very people that implemented this rule can't issue the certificate. Is there somebody out there that can help me please! I am so desperate </p>
