Department Home Affairs Kokstad
Me and my husband visited Home Affairs Kokstad today to collect our passports and ID's, we walked in exactly at 15H03.We are staying about 69km from Kokstad and we are working Monday to Saturday and had to take off at work to collect our documents after two months and when we arrived, there were two ladies at the Meter Greeter where the one lady (young big build bolt headed lady) was very rude and unprofessional in the way she told us that they were offline and that we cannot be helped, but there were alot of people in the queue and I could see that she was lying and I could see that the second lady was very nervous and looked at the bolt lady everytime I asked her a question so as if she was not sure what to say. I then politely asked for their names because they did not have name badges on and they blatantly refused to give their names. After I questioned them they send me and my husband to counter 3 to go and tell that person to give us our passports, so we walked over to counter 3 where there was a old man sitting with glasses and he was just as rude and arrogant and refused to give us the passports, this old man was even raising his voice at us the way he did not want to help us. I asked them what time they close and they said 15H30 and I just knew that's why they did not want to take in more people. After some time they gave us our passports but not the ID's and that means that we need to take off from our work again and fetch our ID's. It is very sad that the services rendered to us South African citizens from our government companies are very poor. We are being treated as if we does not belong. Home Affairs need to train their staff on how to treat their customers fairly and upskill them on how to deal with people in a professional way, after all we are all human. This is very very poor.
