CHANGING OF SURNAME

February the 22nd will mark 1 year of trying to change my son's surname. I have called and called EVERYONE I can relating this! From the head offices to the department where I've started the process! I needed it to be changed for the school year as the school needs it in order to change him on the system! Everytime they give me someone else to call! The one lady even told me that they are looking for the proof of BIRTH! I told her it's standing in front of me ( my son ) and I'll gladly bring it to her! Our systems are so disappointing! They told me the process only takes 6 months. Don't know how long their 6 months is! It's also disappointing for my son having to wait so long for his surname to be changed! I'm really not proudly South African anymore! This morning I've phoned again. The Brakpan Branch as well as the head offices! Brakpan Branch gave me 3 numbers that I can't get ahold of either one of the numbers! Head office still tells me that it's still in process! How long is the process still going to take if they have exculated the case and and and???
