Change of Surname

Despite ongoing communication between myself and Mr. Selaelo Romolotja, I have yet to receive any response following my most recent email sent on 11 July 2025. It is concerning that my correspondence has been ignored to date.

Today, 20 August 2025, we contacted your office once again in an effort to understand the delay. This application to change my daughter's surname was initially submitted in 2023, yet we have experienced no meaningful progress—only repeated assurances that the matter is being escalated. Despite these escalations and even reapplying, there has been no resolution.

I spoke with an individual named Joseph, who informed me that our case is currently listed on SRM. However, considering the timeframe we’ve endured, this process has taken unreasonably long. According to your official website, the standard turnaround time for such applications is 3 to 8 months, yet we are well beyond that period.

We respectfully request immediate clarity and feedback on this matter. Should we continue to experience delays and a lack of communication, we will have no choice but to escalate the issue further through the appropriate external channels. This includes pursuing action based on the numerous telephone discussions and in-person visits—specifically to your Akasia branch—that have not yielded results.
