Best times to use Department of Home Affairs

I used the Caledon office for a passport application. I made an appointment but found on arrival that it counts for nothing. Lazy unhelpful staff. Suggest that you arrive at 15.00 (they close at 15.30) mid week mid month as probably the quietest. Don't bother with an appointment as they do not honour them.
