Almost 3 Years and still waiting for a Change of Surname Confirmation Letter

<p>Its has been almost 3 years that I am still waiting for this confirmation letter.</p> <p>Around 2001 my surname was changed from my mothers Surname to my Fathers Surname. I went o Home Affairs in 2014 and submitted a request for a confirmation letter stating when my surname was changed and to what. For 1 whole year I chased this request constantly going to Home affairs and hearing them tell me it is not ready as yet. I then app**** a second time and went through the same issue. I made do and sorted out what I need to without this letter.</p> <p>I now have personal policies that require this information and therefore resubmitted this request again this year FEB. When I called 3 weeks later to check if this letter was ready (as the lady at home affairs told me to come back after a month because I will not receive an SMS) they told me it is not visible on the system!</p> <p>I have now escalated this request and after a week have still not received any feedback from the Escalation committee.</p> <p>It is really frustrating that no one could assist me and sort this out since 2014! with a simple letter! information that they should have on their systems!<br />If I do not receive any feedback by next week I will forfeit these policies!! I am beyond furious and upset! It is so unfair that we work hard and do things right only to be overlooked and disregarded by incompetency.</p> <p>If anyone from the department sees this I hope you can treat this as Urgent as I'm not sure anymore what to do!!!!!!</p> <p>Reference number: ********** 637</p>
