Adoption woes

<p>I have waited for 7 months to have my adopted child's first names changed. I have sent emails to Nokuthula Matshana from the Call Centre. She has not had the professionalism or courtesy to reply. I have also copied M<a style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;" href="mailto:***">kuseli Aplen</a>i. Again no response. I am not surprised at the lack of response as we only received an ID number for my child on the day we were due to serve a summons on the Minister of Home Affairs. I had, probably naively, believed that there would be some compassion towards the plight of adopted children in South Africa. Obviously I was mistaken. The DHA staff with whom I have dealt lack any form of compassion. Reading this, I doubt that they will feel any shame at all. Where has the empathy in our public services gone? </p>
