1 year for a birth certificate amendment?

<p>Dear Team,</p> <p> </p> <p>We app**** at Home Affairs in Secunda :( </p> <p> </p> <p>We are now frustrated. We app**** for a new birth certificate for our 6 year old son. This was so we can change his surname. We app**** in November 2015. Every time we come in to check or collect we are told to come back in 2 weeks or 4 weeks to check if it will be ready. The service level is so disappointing. It has been a year now and we still do not have our son’s new birth certificate. Sadly we need it for his new school as he will be going to Grade 1 in 2017. Please let us know what the problem is exactly and what we need to do to get this birth certificate that we so desperately need?
