Good day Mr van Eeden

Further to our telephone conversation with you and your mother (the member) earlier today, we established that the enquiry related to outstanding costs to Dr KC Johannes, for your brother Franco, for August and September 2015.

We have done the necessary investigation and confirm that:

The first enquiry as to the status of these orthodontic accounts was received by Denis in January 2016 (5 months after the treatment was done).
The reference numbers issued in December 2015, ********** 08 and ********** 72, as referred to in a recent e-mail received from your father (principle member) was not issued by Denis neither Metropolitan Health.

We have proceeded with a stale claim payment request (as these accounts exceed the four month claiming period). This will be reviewed and feedback will be provided to you once finalised.

Reviewer Update

I was at the accounts department today at the doctor and still no payments have been made up to date!!!!!

There seems to be no sense of urgency from Denis in bringing the account up to date!!!

Can it really take 2 weeks to resolve this outstanding account????

Very dissappointed in your service!!!!

Good day Francois

Further to our telephonic discussion dated 15 July 2016, we wish to note the following:

We have confirmed with Dr Johannes’ rooms that the initial fee (claimed for August 2015) still remains outstanding. As advised previously, a request to review this stale claim has been forwarded to the scheme and we await feedback on the review before this claim can be finalised.

In addition, the practice confirmed that the instalment for June 2016 (amount R 626.13) remains outstanding. Upon checking Franco’s claims record, we confirmed that a remittance advice dated 17 June 2016, was issued by the scheme, confirming the payment (R 560.44 at scheme tariff).

Furthermore, we were informed that the remaining balance is due to the difference between the scheme’s approved amount and the claimed amount which the member remains responsible for. A copy of the original pre-authorisation letter as issued by GEMS is available and may be requested, as reference.
