*********** sales and shoddy customer care - AVOID!

As reported elsewhere, appalling logistics and a total lack of after sales customer support. I was a customer of DT in the early 2000s, when I was a club racer, and used to get good service and competitive prices. I therefore had no qualms in ordering from them when I needed parts for my Alfa Romeo 155 restoration project. I ordered a set of Konisport shock absorbers with H&R springs, carefully selecting the correct ones from the very easy to use DT website menu, at a price of about 900 GBP to be delivered direct to the workshop in Yorkshire, England. The parts were addressed incorrectly and not to the details given on the order, so couldn't be delivered and were returned to DT. The first indication I had was when the payment reappeared on my account - minus the shipping cost - with no call to the contact number provided by DT or the courier. I then had to reorder at a higher price, with a second shipping charge. The delivery was eventually made, albeit in very battered packaging. When my workshop came to fit the suspension 2 or 3months later, they found the parts didn't fit. On checking they found the kit was for a Mercedes SLK. They contacted DT but were told they could only deal with the customer direct. I then contacted them on numerous further occasions to complain and to arrange an exchange or refund, which they have kicked down the road with promises to look into my complaint and come back to me - which of course never happens! At one point one staffer told me it wasn't their problem, as they only order the parts, which are then despatched direct from the importer, despite my contractual agreement being with DT. They are the customer of the importer and with their large buying power could, no doubt, use this to get them exchanged for the correct ones if there was any semblance of customer care at DT, which is seemingly no longer the case! Most recently I was told that too much time had gone by for them to be able to do anything, so it was my hard luck. I'm now stuck with a 900 quid suspension set for a car I don't own, leaving me the problem of selling them secondhand to recoup some of my loss! My recommendation is to avoid giving them your business, as you'll get nowhere if you have any problem at all. not an unlikely event given their level of incompetence!
