Worst day with Delta Coaches
On the 24th of January I experienced the worst with Delta coaches. It was supposed to leave Pta Bosman at 15hrs as indicated on the ticket. Some 30 minutes after 15hrs the bus was nowhere to be seen. On enquiring from the staff they said the bus is around Midrand and will arrive in 15 to 30 minutes. Still after that the same statement would be repeated until it finally came at around 19hrs. Check in was done at that moment the bus arrived. My wife's small luggage was charged R300 which I thought was too much. Based on your guidelines: Two pieces of luggage and goods, each of which does not exceed 80cm x 60cm x 30cm in size, and of a total mass (all luggage and goods combined) not exceeding 20kg for domestic departures, and 30kg for cross-border departures. I tried to negotiate but I was told the ticket has been written already. If everything depends on what is written I wonder why they didn't stick to the departure time. These touts or workers create an atmosphere of urgency so that clients are left with no option but to pay for the exorbitant price. It's either you pay for the luggage or it is left behind. The best practice is to pay for the luggage before one pays the bus fare. I think if the pra ctice does not change expect to loose one or two customers that is me and my wife. To make matters worse they were very unapologetic. They actually wanted to understand that the bus can't travel without a full capacity. As much as we appreciate that I feel that should be communicated before one pays for the ticket.
