Delta ****** *****ing vulnerable customers money!!

I am extremely

My uncle purchased a return bus ticket from East London to Paarl Station. When travelling to Cape Town, the bus did not stop at Paarl Station as stated on his ticket. Instead, the bus passed Paarl and he was dropped off at an N1 garage, leaving him to arrange and pay for his own transport back to Paarl.

The situation became even more unacceptable on his return journey. When he arrived at Paarl Station to board his return bus, he was informed that Delta no longer stops in Paarl. This is extremely concerning because this information was not communicated to him when he purchased his return ticket.

If Delta had stopped servicing Paarl, why was he allowed to purchase a ticket with Paarl Station listed as his destination? He should have been informed before paying, so that he could make the necessary arrangements and avoid additional costs.

Because of Delta’s failure to provide the service he paid for, my uncle had to:

- Pay for transport from the N1 garage back to Paarl. - Purchase another bus ticket on the spot in order to get back to East London. - Incur additional expenses that he had not budgeted for because Delta failed to honour the original booking.

He was then promised a refund. We were specifically advised that the refund would take 3–7 business days. More than three weeks have now passed, and that period has already been exceeded by a significant amount.

When we followed up, we were told that the matter would be escalated. We were subsequently told that the company is experiencing financial difficulties and that there are apparently no funds available.

Delta’s financial difficulties are not my uncle’s responsibility. He paid for a service in good faith. Delta failed to provide that service, caused him to incur additional expenses, and then failed to process the refund within the timeframe that Delta itself provided.

Delta cannot continue taking customers’ money for services that are not provided and then use the company’s financial difficulties as a reason for not returning customers’ money.

Delta needs to pay the money owed to my uncle.
