Non disclosure of damages on a vehicle inspection
Dekra Automotive had done an inspection on a vehicle I wanted to purchase directly from Mercedes Benz Head Office. The inspection was part of the Nedbanks finance process and I as the client had paid for this inspection. Dekra failed to note all external and internal damages to this vehcile and stated on the report that " during the inspection no deficiencies were detected" . This should have meant that the inspector had checked all of the necessary and these were the findings. However Dekra has failed the system completely as there were many damages on the external and internal of the vehicle. Nedbank had explained that they put their trust in Dekra and proceed with finalization from the Dekra findings which in this case Dekra gave false information to Nedbank and to myself- the client. The funds was then paid over from Nedbank to Mercedes Benz as this process had to be completed prior to me picking up the vehicle. to my dismay I had collected the vehcile and saw the vehicle for the first time as this is the Merceds Benz head office process. I had then noticed all the damages that Dekra failed to report on. I had informed both Nedbank and Dekra. Dekra senior manager ( Francois) had met with me at my work place and left me with great hope as the client that he will address my matter as he understands my concerns. To my utter disappointment Francois had did the opposite of that and had instead met with the staff of Mercedes Benz and got information from them to support the failure of Dekra not doing their process correctly and noting all the damages on the report. Dekra had violated my rights a a consumer by going to Mercedes Benz for their own benefit and not mine as a consumer. The compliance officer had then emailed me with rules that Mercedes Benz offers and feels this is support to Dekra failing to do their job. I had informed both Mercedes Benz and Dekra that these damages were not disclosed to me and I have eveidence to prove this. Both parties however do not value client service / satisfaction and have turned a blind eye on this and expect me as the client to take the loss of a product that should never have been sold in this conditon. Dekra is clearly an unrelaible source for anyone to make use of as they do not disclose relevant information to their clients and beleive it is to their discretion. This kind of service from a reputable company is shocking but speaks for itself on the intergrity and values of the company.
