DIshonest service

I had an interesting situation this past week at Dekra CambridgeHemingways Mall area.

My wife is selling her car and took it there to get a roadworthy certificate. I know the car is good but you never know what is happening under the carriage. This was around 16h00 on Thursday afternoon.

Dekra inspected and failed the car based on the fact that the handbrake was faulty. I found this laughable but advised my wife to take her car to a mechanic to ensure all is well.
We told the mech what Dekra said and he smiled

Hello Gideon101,

There is absolute no truth in your statement that DEKRA only allows a certain number of vehicles to pass.If the vehicle comply it will pass.
All vehicles are tested according to the NRTA (Act no. 93 of 1996) and the SABS , SANS 10047.
The brakes/handbrakes is tested on a calibrated brake roller machine and the brake force required is measured in Newtons(kN)
We hope and trust that the above answers your concerns.
