Deedsinfo rip-off

Deedsinfo describes itself on it's website as a "truly revolutionary service" that would, for a fee, search for and provide copies of your official documents or contracts stored by the Deeds office.

We were urgently looking for a copy of our ANC (ante nuptial contract). We searched the web and came across the site, thinking that they seem legit and could solve our problem. On 16 March we placed the request on their website and paid the R500 fee required. After a couple of days, we received an email from them, stating that they had found our ANC and would need 5 days to process the document (as it was not digital, it had to be scanned). We were so happy with the feedback!

However, 5 days came and went without any communication from them. On 18 April we sent them a mail (there is no phone number on the website to contact them on), were we only got an automated answer and reference number. After another couple of days, they made contact, stating that they will send the document within a couple of days, if not, they will refund the money. This was on 9 May and was also the last time we heard from them. We never received our document, nor was our money refunded.

We have sent in excess of 200 emails already without reply. This firm needs to be investigated as they are robbing people from their hard earned money!
