Refusal to refund me my money back

I made a laybuy at Decosy innovations on he 31/12/2022 of a couch and paid a deposit of R1500 to them, so I was told that I should make a call a day before coming to collect the couch so I did as told and was told that the couch will be in store and ready for collection he next day had no problem with that. So the day came for me to come and collect the couch was told its not yet available and should come back at two in he afternoon was a bit frustrated but I waited till that time and when I came again it was still not in store so was told that if ever I feel that I'm unsatisfied then I can take my refund on the spot. Then when I requested for a refund was told the he won't be able to give me the refund because he has brought the item in store and that I should pay the remaining balance of R1200 and take the couch. So I no longer want the couch want the couch because of the way he conduct his business and now I'm told that the only solution is to pay the balance because the laybuy has expired but I'm surprised because laybuy was done on the 31/12/2022 and counting 3 months the laybuy is only expiring on the 31/03/2023. The bad part is that the owner said is not willing to give me my funds back and also said it is petty money so I no longer require there service and don't want anything to attach me to that place
