Centurion branch - Conflicting information provided on delivery time lines and general poor service.
A few things here regarding the Centurion branch. I brushed it off when in store but with the new incident I will make mention of this in the hope someone within Decofurn actually tries to improve things. I collected some dining room chairs on the 23rd of November 2024. Whilst at the store we decided on a rug and wall mounted shelf as well. The rug was not in stock and needed to be ordered. I was told seven days. The shelf I wanted was available, but upon inspection it had a clearly visible knock that damaged it (on one of the edged sides). The funny thing is, if I did not make mention of it, the staff, who could also see the damage, would have just let me take the damaged goods out the door without saying a word. Pathetic. I asked that another one be provided, and was then also told that it will need to be ordered, and again, seven days lead time. The chairs brought from the warehouse also showed visible sign of damage on quite a few of their components. Once again, had I not said a word, the staff would have been quite happy to let me leave with damaged goods. Some of the staff got quite annoyed with me asking for these components to be swopped. Once again, this is pathetic. I made a follow up call this morning to find out about the rug and shelf. You reach a call centre. I then ask about my order with the agent who answers the call, I am placed on hold and then another random person answers the call who has no idea who I am or what I want. I figured out that the agent blind transfers the call to the Centurion branch without giving anyone on that side any details about who I am and why I am on the line in the first place. I then ask that person about my order, who explains that the goods have not arrived and that it is seven to ten working days. From the time the order was placed up until my follow up call, three days have been added. To reiterate, this is once again pathetic. I then ask the person I am speaking to to have the manager at the store give me a call. She agrees and then just hangs up. No word of a goodbye of any other form of properly ending a call. It's as if whoever is employing your staff is just randomly selecting whoever is standing by the roadside, sitting under a tree or loitering on a street corner to be employed. Things like manners, ethics and tact is not required. Whilst typing this review, I receive a call from the same random person telling me that my goods are now, suddenly, on a delivery vehicle in transit and will be arriving by today. The seven to ten working days statement has now flown out the window. I will be getting an SMS to collect. Between my first call and the return call from the person I spoke to when I called, timelines have changed once again. Someone, or some department within Decofurn, is really really bad at doing their job. Fix that as a matter of priority. Just because the money is rolling in it by no means indicates that you are doing everything right. Work on your client liaison, it's seriously lacking. I am probably one of the smallest spenders and insignificant of clients with Decofurn, by my account is always up to date and I have settled more than once way ahead of the repayment period. Have some appreciation for clients like that.
Still no call from a manager. I in fact think that someone at senior executive management level should make that call. The branch manager will just tell me what the random person told me in the hopes to brush me off and will further um and aah when I start ranting about the experience.
