Arrogant Manager at the Port Elizabeth Branch
Arrogant Manager at the Port Elizabeth Branch
l went to buy a Zuko 3 piece recliner set on a Sunday and asked to collect on a Thursday as l needed it for my mothers birthday party. When l went to collect the couch was shocked to hear that l had to assemble it myself for some reason which l didn't mind. l got home and assembled it and all went well. l moved the 3 sitter couch into position pushing the sides and my partner holding the other arm and we put it into place, l pushed the one sitter the same way, come to the 2 sitter, the arms went off. i did not panic as l suspected that there was something wrong with the stitching which they will give me a new one. l called them on Friday to explain and they said l should bring it back for an exchange. Saturday morning l took the 2 sitter back and the guys at the collection side understood what l was talking about and called the so called manager lady, she just came gun blazing as if she was waiting for me and already judged me without hearing what l had to say and just said she wont take it back its my negligence. l tried to talk to her but she was not hearing any of it. l left the couch and asked the guys what l should do and they directed me to the heard office in Cape town. l called them on Monday and spoke to a lady called Esmeralda and she said she will log a complaint and the manager will get back to me. Up until now l haven't heard anything from them. during the weekend l went over to 2 different houses who had the same couches and who recommended me to go to the store and pulled the couches like l did mine and they did not tear at all, my argument is there was some manufacturing defect on the 2 sitter and they must give me a replacement or refund if this is not possible. l have paid R14 000 for them and the arm cannot just come off the stitches just after being pulled the first time. There is wear and tear but not just after 2 hours of purchase.
