i should have never choosen debt safe.......... this is how i made the worst decision ever. i filled in a application with debt safe in 2017 a year later i am doubble my outstanding balance in debt still no court order. nicola is my consultant and yet i cant ever be told how long i will be on the review acording to my statements however 2023 will be my last repayment so that makes it 6 years when i clearly stated in my application if its more than 3 years id rather not apply. pathetic service and they trest you like a imbasil because you cannot understand that their black and white does not correlate with the lies they feed you.
Good day Ms. Welsh
I refer to the conversation between yourself and Nicola yesterday.
I have also taken the time to investigate and would like to take the opportunity to explain the following to you.
You app**** for debt review on 24/02/2017 and I am referring to the confirmation of consultation document that was sent to you on 27/02/2017.
It was recorded in the Confirmation of Consultation letter that the outstanding balance of a creditor may increase due to the fact that the monthly amount paid is less than the interest charged monthly.
Your payment plan was calculated after we have received all the certificates of balances. We could only then establish the new repayment terms according to you affordability, according to a budget that you complete.
However it was impossible for us to calculate a payment plan for you for three years due to the fact that the agreement you signed with African bank for a personal loan was for six years.
The certificates of balance for the African Bank loan stated that the inception date of loan was 30/12/2015 and expiry date of loan was 06/03/2021. An original payment term of 72 months.
If we calculated a payment plan for you for three years this would have further led to you paying the original instalment or more than the original instalment and this would also not have given you the financial relief you longed for.
Your application was previously in court and was postponed due to the fact that the Magistrate wanted more information with regards to your financial situation.
Kindly take note that your application was heard in court on 15/05/2018 and we are delighted to inform you that your court order is granted.
I truly hope that I have been able to put the matter into perspective in the light of my explanation.
