I would like to lodge a complaint against Debtsafe.

I joined debtsafe last year on the 27th of November 2017. When i joined i was told that I would be in the program for not more than 5 years as per the NCR directive. I was told all i needed to do was to pay R4300 monthly instalment to them.

My relationship manager was Gerhard, who sent me a payment proposal of which i did not understand and my relationship manager was soon changed to a lady called Molly or Marley after I have called and enquired about the payment proposal.

Marley told me that i was gonna be in the program for 8.5 years and that concerned me a lot because It is absolutley not what i signed up for, Atleast I would not have explored another options If I knew I was going to be under debt review for such a long time.

I asked Marley in February 2018 on what to do to reduce the number of years and she said I must Increase my Instalment. I asked her how much must I pay extra on my vehicle finance since she was saying it is the only account that is delaying me. She said she would consult Absa and revert back to me and she did not.

I have a serioua concern because I do not get hold of her everytime I call, even when I leave her messages she still does not get back to me. I tried to call her again today and the operator said she was busy I must leave a message again and she will get back to me. I complained to the operator who ended up assisting me and telling me that I need to Incease my payment by R1700 inorder to reduce the number of years.

I've been trying to talk to my relationship manager without any success since February this year.

Now I really do not understand. Is this fair? Why was I not told the truth in the first place? Why was I not told that I would be in this review for almost 9 years? because it is one of the first questions I asked, " how long am i gonna be under this review??"

Please assist.
