Don't do debt councilling

I tried debt save. It is a very bad experience. I was told to stop all my payments and change to another account. Now my car payments are behind and the bank wants my car. Where must i get the money now. It is affecting my job as well. I am so stressed. I wont ever suggest doing debt councilling

It was clearly explained to you in the beginning of the process that the first three payments will be allocated towards fees and as from the fourth month your creditors will receive payment, the confirmation documentation was even signed by yourself.

Please grant me the opportunity to give you background on the debt review application process. You have app**** for debt review because you had difficulty in meeting your financial credit obligations.

We issue a repayment proposal that effectively reduces the repayment amount but increases the period of repayment therefore while under debt review the accounts will reflect in arrears. Once  the court order has been granted the creditors then restructure the accounts accordingly.

The debt review application process , as regulated by the National Credit Act , envisages that distressed consumers should be assisted to repay their credit  obligations over the shortest possible period to enable the consumers to return  to the credit market in a responsible manner. Home Loans and Vehicles are calculated at 80% of the original instalment and unsecure loans are negotiable.

I further confirm that on 20/02/2017 you gave permission to increase your rehabilitation amount in order to make a more reasonable offer towards the vehicle as the vehicle was only receiving 41% of the original instalment.

Wesbank terminated the account from debt review as the offer was deemed unreasonable but we have however notified Wesbank of the increase and we have requested that the account be reinstated.

I trust you find the above in order.

Thank you.

Roxanne de Klerk
