Debtsafe steeling clients money!!

Me and my husbund both decided to put us up for debt review, I had lost my job and since then we are unable to pay the full installment on my vehicle. Debtsafe told us not to worry, as they will negotiate with the bank. Monday morning we woke up with a nock on the door, yep it was wesbank coming to collect my car. We started with debtsafe when we were R8000 behind on the monthly installments - now we as R24000 behind. Debtsafe told us the paid the bank R1800 pm, but the bank confirmed only receiving an amount of R500 the first payment in 3 months. How bad is this! Luckely we came up with a solution otherwise I would have lost my car. So my advice to you is do a bit of homework and background checks when deciding to go under debt review!!

I tried to contact you and your husband but with no success of getting hold of you.

Please understand that debt review is a negotiations process and the creditors have the right to accept or decline an offered made. The most important to ensure a successful review is to make sure the offers made to the creditors are fair and reasonable.

Regarding your Wesbank account, the offer originally made was for 55% of the original instalment and on 04/02/2015 Jackie advised that this was not going to be acceptable to Wesbank as it is required to offer at least 80% of the original instalment. On 12/02/2015 you informed Jackie that she could increase your debt review in order to offer 80% of the original instalment for the vehicle. The changes were made and revised proposal was sent to Wesbank.

When Jackie discussed the payment plan with you she explained that this was a risky proposal and you signed confirmation thereof. Please kindly note that currently your are paying 25% of your original debt obligations and we have calculated the payment plan the best way possible with the funds that you have made available for debt review.
