Debt Review Flag Still Active Despite Cancelled Process (No Court Order)
I am seeking assistance regarding an unresolved debt review status that is incorrectly affecting my credit profile.
In 2020, I app**** for debt review to assess whether I qualified for assistance. The process was cancelled within the first three months, and no court order was ever obtained. This has now been confirmed in writing by the debt counsellor.
The debt counsellor has also confirmed that no further creditor engagement is taking place and that the process was never finalised.
Despite this, I am still reflected as “under debt review” on my credit profile.
I am being told that the only way to remove this status is to either:
- Pay all historical debts and obtain paid-up letters; or - Approach the courts
This does not reflect the reality of my situation.
There is no active or completed debt review process, and even creditors require new authority (Power of Attorney) to engage, which indicates that the process is not active in practice.
However, my profile continues to reflect that I am under debt review, with no practical or affordable way to correct this.
This raises a serious concern that a consumer can apply for assistance, cancel the process early, and still remain indefinitely flagged, even where the process was never concluded.
I am requesting that my case be reviewed and that my status be corrected to accurately reflect the actual outcome of the process.
I would appreciate urgent assistance in resolving this matter.
