Be warned about Debtsafe
I app**** for debt review to this useless company with heartless debt Councillor that indulge in serious mugging people who are desperate. i moved from one DC to this company. the reason i moved from the previous DC was their failure to handle only standard bank account but I was happy with their service. With the previous DC, I was only paying R4038, with Debtsafe I'm now paying R5033. My total debt is only R5570. 00 per month. Debtsafe promised me that they will reduce my installment by almost 40% and I am wondering how did debtsafe assisted me. I regret moving from the previous DC to Debtsafe, if I knew I would stay with them regardless the circumstances. Debtsafe is an opportunistic company that con people who are sink in debt. I can definately afford the difference of R500. With this difference of R500, I have been charged R6000 and R8000. Du plesis, the Debtsafe counsellor, you are a heartless person.
We attempted to contact you earlier today, but without success.
This is your second application for debt counselling. You transferred from another debt counsellor to our firm on 28 March 2017 and at the time you applied with us you already had problems with some of your creditors. Your Standard Bank accounts were already terminated and therefore they have sent us counter offers. Unfortunately we cannot take responsibility for what happened at your previous Debt Counsellor but we will assist in making new arrangements. When your application was transferred from your previous debt counsellor to us there was no court order granted.
Because you were already terminated at your previous DC, we have no grounds for negotiations and we have to restructure according to the counter-offers of the creditors.
The charges you are referring to are fees that were explained to you in the beginning of the process and this is all included in your monthly debt review instalment. These fees are strictly regulated by the NCR. A legal fee must be paid to enable us to appoint attorneys and attend to all aspects concerning the required court case pertaining to the re-arrangement of the debt obligations in terms of the National Credit Act.
You court process has commenced and we are awaiting feedback from the attorneys.
We will attempt to contact you again later today.
I trust you will find it in order.
Kind regards.
