Wrongfully put on debt review
I was called by their consultant Zuko and later spoke to both him and his other colleague, Lee. Both of them I had told outwardly that I’m just wanting to hear them out before agreeing to anything. This was on the 14th of May. On the 15th of May At around 15:30 I got a text saying NCR got my form 16 and that I should send through my ID, payslips, bank statements and proof of residence. On the 15th at around 21H00 I Whatsapped a number that they had given me telling them that I dont accept the option of debt review. I had no response so on the 18th of May I called their offices but no one picked up and then I subsequently called their owner PJ telling them I wanted to follow up on a cancellation to which he said that his staff was out of office because someone had tested positive for COVID-19 and that someone would call me when they are back. On the 19th I got a whatsapp message telling me that my request was noted and that it would be put through to the seniors. Now I call them today to ask why I’m listed under debt review - to which the owner said that it was because I didn’t dispute the review within 2 days of signing the form. But this is incorrect because I whatsapped and called them before 2 says lapsed. I also called my apparent portfolio manager Nono who also said she isn’t sure why I’m listed under debt review when she doesn’t have any paper work linking me to her as my portfolio manager. The whole afternoon I spent calling both Nono and the owner PJ trying to find out what was happening and what the way forward was however come end of their business day no one got back to me!!
I would like to know why I was wrongfully signed up for debt review in the first place And secondly why I’m now being told I didn’t decline the offer before form 17.b was sent - when I clearly went through all necessary channels
