Calling under false pretenses and signing you up for debt counseling with your knowledge

I received a call from the call centre today, not wanting to be rude I gave the person a chance to talk. I asked for reasons for the call and what the purpose was, they said that it was to get my loan installments down and when asking if it was debt consolidation or similar, I was told no. Apparently they are a government appointed agency just trying to help people pay lower interest rates. WRONG! They sent me documents to sign, before signing, I googled the company as something felt wrong and saw they are a debt counselling company. They never said this. I did not sign anything but I hope that my profile does not get flagged for debt counseling application. They are calling people under false pretenses. Be very careful of them.
