I reached out to Debt Restore after I had lost my job during covid and was struggling with my debt. Specially my car was at the verge of being repossessed. I had hoped that they would help me keep my car.
Unfortunately the bank had sent some letter which I had not personally received and I was told that the matter had moved past a saving point. I still had other debt and considered my options.
At that point I was working as a temp for a car dealership and as I was earning some money thought it best to start repaying my accounts and Debt Restore was very helpful still then.
My temp assignment was cut short (this was around July / August 2021) just as I had completed the paperwork to apply with Debt Restore. I was once again unemployed and I confirmed with them that I would not be able to proceed.
Nothing further came from their side.
Now 2 years later I am employed and have decided to pay my debt on my own terms. Mostly because I had lost my car and need a vehicle to support me getting to work and under debt review I would not be able to buy a car.
I now have found out that Debt Restore still went ahead and loaded my profile under review despite me never actually engaging in their services. They now also no longer are helpful in resolving this issue for me either.
