Run from Debt Rescue

I would strongly advise any person who needs to consider DEBT review to avoid DEBT RESCUE at all costs. Firstly you need to understand this is a business they are not there to SERVE you to get debt-free. Hopefully, my experience will shed light on my experience which I can see is a common practice within their organisation.

It all started 3 months ago after I enquired when my debt review would come to completion as it's almost been 5 years. The consultant told me the estimation is September 2024. This was more than 9 months than originally stipulated. When I asked her how this be an estimation and inquired about the amount still outstanding she said they would have to request the outstanding amounts. Monthly you only receive a statement displaying how the payment has been distributed. Once a year they request an updated balance report from all your debtors. ONLY once a year. FNB was the first to respond that there was only one account outstanding and that TWO ACCOUNTS were overpaid to the amount of R7600 and the other account they did not specify. Debt Rescue received this email on the 13th of November. On the 27th they deducted the monthly debit order and again paid both the accounts that were already overpaid. Whilst not increasing the payment on the account that was still in the arrears.

I requested them to contact me and explain how they can make an error like this but still no contact was made. I then contacted all my debtors, requested my settlement letter and zero balance statements, and debt-free where DEBT RESCUE estimated another 9 months is needed to get debt-free.

Understand they are a business, you pay them monthly, and the longer they can keep you on their records the better for them. They overpaid accounts with more than ten thousand rand after being informed by the debtor. They are not debt specialist.
