OH SCHUCKS - IT IS TOO LATE

I app**** for "rescue" early in March. They acted over eager, actually pressing me to sign, and I should not have ignored all the bells, whistles, alarms and sirens that went off in my head. I was not in arrears with my accounts but did struggle to keep it that way since I've seperated from my partner, who left SA and went back to his land of origin. I also thought to take precautionary steps, because we worked less and less overtime, due to SA's financial state. My medical aid was actually the only problem, but I had arrangements in place.

And then all the fun started, firstly with Ms. World Class Mathematician, who clearly lost the ability to work a calculator, or perhaps just needed glasses. Shame. She made an error with my affordability, by adding the overtime to my salary (so overtime x 2), and also lost a little bit of focus when she put down the amount payable for my rental = R6,100,00 versus R1859,12 Yeah, I know, looks the same.

Because of all the pressure I exerienced at that stage, and also because I really want to believe people are supposed to be excellent in their appointed jobs, I signed the papers and sent it back, only to realise the mistake later. I corrected said forms, send it back with a request that they should ammend their figures, but then, the circus came to town, and they brought a few bats and rats with.

Nobody responded to my request, nobody answered the phones, all went in hiding because you can attract the Covid 19 virus via phone and mails. Eventually one brave soul answered the phone, only to tell me it's too late to change. I backed off, purely because I do not like to beg, and also do not like conflict. I confess, entirely my fault, and I can not blame this on DR.

Yet, a few days later I scrooge up a little courage, and tried again. Same responce from another brave one. Not to sound too needy, I backed off once again. After trying a few more times via phone and mail, just to be denied, I left it. Shame on me this time.

Then, last month, in a last desperate attempt, I sent a mail to their complaints department, and included the people I dealt with. I received new forms to complete, which I did, and sent same back with all the required documentation. I was surprised by all the feedback I received, as in non existent.

And then, congatulations! "We have pleasure to inform you that your debt review court order have been granted." When I asked for proof that they indeed tried to renegotiate with my creditors, the Legal Court Specialist informed me that they perused all the documentation and unfortunately cannot approve my request for a reduction of premium at this time.

Yes! Why you ask me? Because I am sure by now it is too late, 3 days AFTER the court order was granted.
