Fighting a losing battle

We are all quite aware why we use the services of a debt review company, as we have all been affected in some way or another in our life paths on this earth. I havent had anything negative to say about DebtRescue previously; I have been with them since Covid Around October 2021, the first company I used, MDH, didn't bother communicating after my first 2-3 installments or making payments to creditors. What I dont get, is the yearly 5% increase when my salary has not increased; therefore, where is the affordability? I have to feed, clothe, & have kids in school, sadly widowed. After enquiring about not being able to afford the increase, I was emailed a document to complete, which I duly did and returned the doc on email to DebtRescue, & once again I got igored. I received an sms to confirm my increase for the debit order over the weekend, note that this is all that is mentioned on the contract. "I acknowledge that a standard annual increase MIGHT be implemented on my debt review payment plan. The annual increase percentage will be communicated to me upon calculation of my interim payment plan. I understand that this is to ensure that my debt is settled in the shortest possible period." (Unquote) That is not what was told to me telephonically earlier today when I phoned in, I was told that the increase was communicated to the creditors when I joined and about the court order, and they expect that increase; otherwise, this will be added onto the existing debt as unpaid. If this is based on affordability, why send me the paper work to complete of not being able to afford the increase? I question The way debt review is advertised numerously according to your affordability! "A single, affordable, reduced instalment." (Unquote) It seems this is only for the first year, I do not work out the repayment; I got a quote from them. Therefore, in a nut shell, from my understanding, debt review does not assist with reducing debt by stopping the interest from creditors. We have also had an interest rate cut of 50 basis points, so the higher debt being the bond will already get extra from existing payments, will see if this actually is the case as well. Rob from Pieter to pay ball repeat cycle, just one legged ducks swimming in circrles.

Recevied very prompt service after posting a complaint here as my telephonic request fell on deaf ears. It should have not escalated to this. Thank you to Marlize van Wyk who assisted swiftly & promptly.
