Debt Pro Unprofessional Service & Lack of Customer Care

Long story short, I app**** for debt review through Debt Pro in August 2019, completed a debit order form for the distribution of my installments to the creditors. Debt Pro failed to capture my bank details for the debit order, resulting in the first two installments not being deducted from my account. I ended up being behind in payments and obviously did not have the lump sum to catch up, the exact reason why I app**** for debt review in the first instance. 5 months later and after only receiving 1 single payment, the banks eventually terminated my debt review agreements and requested full payment for the amounts in arrears. I was threatened with summons' from the bank's attorneys and risked my vehicle and possessions being repossessed. I eventually managed to make payment arrangments with the attorneys, who in turn, would pay my creditors. Due to non-performance and Debt Pro not obliging to their contract/agreement with me, I requested a full refund for monies paid to them, an amount of almost R24,000.00. I was refunded a portion at first, then a second amount was paid in the amount of one full contribution, BUT THEY PAID IT INTO THE INCORRECT ACCOUNT. It was paid into the account they suggested I DO NOT USE during the debt review process. The account the one payment was paid into, is in arrears, as this was the account under debt review. This money is now lost in the system and I cannot withdraw this money. The entire process with Debt Pro has been an exhausting one, with little or no feedback to my queries. I have had no choice but to report Debt Pro to the National Credit Regulator, anticipating some sort of resolution and a full refund of the monies paid to them to date.

Good day Mr Elliott

When you apply for debt review you are still obligated to make payment on a monthly basis. When your debit order did not deduct you should have informed us and made an eft payment, because the debit order form you sent us was incomplete.

You are welcome to contact the NCR.

The debit order form was NOT incomplete. YOU failed to capture the details and are at fault here. I did eventually have to do an urgent EFT due to YOUR negligence.
