Calls Harassment
My Standard bank home loan account is in arrears. I have made arrangement with Debt In, the bank's collection agent, to settle this amount. What bothers me though is the automated call system they use. I still get more than 20 calls a day and the moment you answer they say sorry we can see that someone spoke to you.
My question is why don't they see this before they call me. I asked one call centre agent who said its the system, we cant do anything about it. I wonder if Standard bank knows this is how we are treated as clients.
This surely boarders on harassment. If not its abuse of our personal details. At one point l received more than 10 calls within 2 hours. I had to block the numerous numbers they use.
The problem though is, where you need to talk to the bank to resolve the matter. How can this be possible when their agents do such abhorred things like this.
One thing is real, the situation does not help my credit record nor does it help the bank's cash flow. We will all be frustrated with each other.
I still think this is abuse of our personal details and harassment. They need to be reported to a regulator or a body like NCR. There should be a code of conduct for debt collectors. If not, it is surely an ethical issue.
